The recorded version of the ACDIS Radio Show titled How CDI must adapt to healthcare reform with Glenn Krauss, BBA, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPUR, FCS, PCS, C-CDI, CCDS, C-DAM, is now available for listening. I encourage you listen in for a relevant discussion on how and why the profession of CDI must embrace change in the message we bring to physicians on why accurate, complete and effective clinical documentation is important to their very own practice of medicine. Physicians must be engaged in this type of documentation for the right reasons, which is better patient care, better patient outcomes, better care coordination, physician profiling and achievement of value in the reporting of value in the patient-doctor relationship. Patient-doctor relationship still remains the foundation of good patient care as long as the documentation supports an accurate representation and communication of the care actually provided.
